Georgia has condemned the attacks on the Abqaiq oil processing facility in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, which sparked tension in the middle east, leading to the interruption of up to 5.7 million barrels in global oil supplies.
We condemn the attack and believe that any expression of terrorism and extremism is unecceptable, causing tension and affecting regional stability,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports.
The attacks before dawn on Saturday knocked out more than half of crude output from the world's top exporter - five percent of the global oil supply - and cut output by 5.7 million barrels per day, Al Jazeera reports.
Yemen's Houthi rebels, who have been at war with the Saudi-UAE-led coalition since 2015, have taken responsibility for the attacks, warning Saudi Arabia of ‘upcoming attacks’.
