Georgian external trade amounts to $8.13 billion in January-August 2019

Georgia’s external trade turnover increased to $8.13 billion (0.01%) in January-August 2019, reports preliminary data by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The value of exports increased by 12.4 per cent and reached $2.4 billion, while imports decreased 4.4 per cent and amounted to $5.7 billion.

The trade deficit of Georgia in January-August 2019 amounted to $3.3 billion which is 40.6 per cent of trade turnover.

Dynamics of the external merchandise trade statistics indicators in 2014-2019 

In August 2019 the value of export was $309.4 million, while imports amounted to $744.5 million.

In August 2019 total trade turnover amounted to $1.05 billion, while the balance was ($-435.1) million.
