Georgia has exported 3,426 tonnes of peach and nectarine as of July 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection reports.

The agency announces that Georgia sees a decline this year as 5,554 tonnes were exported in July 2018.

As the Ministry reports the climate conditions caused late harvesting of peach that in turn resulted in the low export rate in 2019.

The Ministry adds all required documents for export are prepared and issued under the single-window system.

This is the system enabling international traders to submit regulatory documents at a single location or a single entity.

Officials from phytosanitary and customs agencies are also involved in the process.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection has a special working group which intensively works on earning information, systematization and establishment of ties between farmers and peach sellers.
