Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency will install six elevators for people with disabilities in underpasses in Tbilisi in partnership with City Hall.
The elevators will be installed at three locations – Melikishvili Street, Rustaveli Avenue, Liberty Square – to support the free movement of people with disabilities in the city.
The project will cost $100,000 (€89,650).
Earlier in January, Georgian public service halls added services for disabled persons, becoming the only state service body to work in full compliance with the needs of the disabled.
In April, the Batumi boulevard administration stated it plans to purchase floating beach wheelchairs for those with disabilities.
The wheelchairs will be placed on the old boulevard and an adapted fitting room and bathroom will be installed for the disabled.
