Georgia hosted 348,519 tourists (+4.2%) and 647,770 international travellers (+4.6) in April of 2019, announces the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
The countries with the most significant increase were:
- Uzbekistan (+125.7%)
- Thailand (+97.5%)
- Kazakhstan (+89.1%)
- Turkmenistan (+52.1%)
- China (+30.6%)
- United Arab Emirates (+26.3%)
A positive trend was maintained by visitors from the European Union:
- Austria (+50.8%)
- Italy (+45.6%)
- Spain (+43.8%)
- France (+43.7%)
- Germany (+43.5%)
- Czech Republic (+38.2%)
How did Georgia benefit from more visitors?
In January-March 2019, international tourism revenue reached $578 million, which is $28 million more compared to the same period of 2018.
