Eight citizens of Bangladesh, one citizen of Georgia and one citizen of Azerbaijan were arrested by the Georgian police for trying to cross the country’s border illegally in the Samtskhe-Javakheti southern region of Georgia bordering Turkey.
Five citizens of Bangladesh and one citizen of Georgia were detained in the Charala border sector, while three other citizens of Bangladesh and one citizen of Azerbaijan were arrested near the Vale border sector. They were trying to cross the border illegally aiming to make it into Turkey, Interior Ministry said today.
The offence is punishable by four to five years imprisonment.
