Georgian police have detained one citizen of the Republic of Ghana and another citizen of Congo Republic for attempting to cross the state border of Georgia illegally.
Law enforcers say that the detainees were trying to cross the Georgia-Turkey border aiming to enter Georgia and avoiding border control.
The crime is punishable from four to five years of imprisonment.
The seven detainees who are the citizens of Bangladesh, India and Yemen, have illegally crossed the Armenian-Georgian state border, avoiding the border control procedures.
Georgian police detained two citizens of Iran, one citizen of Marocco and one citizen of Algeria for illegally crossing the state border today.
Eight citizens of Bangladesh, one citizen of Georgia and one citizen of Azerbaijan were arrested by the Georgian police for trying to cross the country’s border illegally in the Samtskhe-Javakheti southern region of Georgia bordering Turkey.
