Georgian PM congratulates Ilham Aliyev on re-election as Azerbaijani president

The Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the winning of the Azerbaijani presidential elections and stated that he "firmly believes” under Aliyev’s leadership Georgia and Azerbaijan will continue "mutual, beneficial relations.”

The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijani has today announced the results of the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan.
According to the final figures, the incumbent head of state, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev garnered 86.03 percent of votes in the race.
Georgia’s Foreign Minister and Vice Prime Minister Mikheil Janelidze and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev have agreed to contribute to the growth of trade turnover between the two countries.
Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today during his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan.
The top officials from Georgia and Azerbaijan are pledging to spare no effort to support and strengthen their "neighbourly relations” which have "truly strategic character”.
"I am pleased that we do not have any obstacles and a difference of opinions in any issues with Georgia.We are friends, we are brothers and our successful meeting and visit today is a successful step for our dynamic development in future,” Aliyev said in Tbilisi.
