Slovenia has joined the number of countries that have praised the Government of Georgia for its legislative changes aimed at improving the humanitarian, social and economic conditions of the populations in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
Slovenia believes this is as an important step in Georgia´s endeavours for a dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili introduced the new peace initiative called ‘A Step Towards a Better Future’ on April 4.
According to Kvirikashvili, the package of legislative amendments aim at improving the humanitarian, social and economic conditions of the populations in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions.
The United States. European Union, Turkey, Poland, Latvia and Germany have also applauded the proposal.
