Georgian President visits United States

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelasvili has left to the United States (US) capital of Washington.

After his recent visit to Brussels, Belgium where Margvelashvili met with top European politicians, he will now discuss Georgia’s integration into NATO and security issues concerning Georgia.

Prior to his departure to the US, President Margevlashvili had an opportunity to exchange opinions over national and regional security issues with US Congressmen and Senators in Brussels.

Margvelashvili asked US politicians to pay special attention to discussing Georgian issues at the upcoming NATO summit.

During his visit to the US, Margvelashvili will participate in the US-Georgia Partnership conference, meet with representatives of the Atlantic Council,m the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the International Republican Institute (IRI), deliver a public lecture at the Georgetown University,

join in a round table discussion at the Hudson University and deliver a speech at the Heritage Foundation.

President Margvelashvili has also scheduled a meeting with the Georgian diaspora in Washington.

Margvelashvili’s working visit to the US will end on March 16.
