Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has sent a congratulatory message to president-elect Salome Zurabishvili, whose inauguration ceremony which will be held in Telavi today.
“I would like to extend my sincere congratulation on your inauguration as President of Georgia. I send my best wishes to you and the people of Georgia and look forward to continuing the excellent relations between our two countries,” reads the letter from Queen Elizabeth II.
The inauguration ceremony of Salome Zurabishvili will start at 15 p.m. today in Telavi. As soon as she takes the oath, current President Giorgi Margvelashvili will no longer be president.
The inauguration ceremony of the fifth president of Georgia will be attended by 150 high level guests from 55 countries including the former president of France Nicola Sarkozy.
