Georgia hosts Canadian film days

Canadian days will start in Tbilisi on September 23 at the National Archive cinema theatre with animated films from Canada.
Canadian film days will last until September 25 and involve feature, documentary and animated films with Georgian translations.
The event is organised by the National Archive and Dalhousie University financed by the Canadian Journal for Film Studies.
All the film screenings are free and open to the public.
A new venue will begin to host film enthusiasts in Tbilisi after the restored and renovated cinema theatre of the National Archives of Georgia opened this week for the first time in over 25 years.
A group of US cinema producers and managers are visiting Georgia from July 10-17 to learn more about the country’s unique filming environment and about the benefits offered by the ‘Film in Georgia’ programme.
Films by Georgian filmmakers will be screened in three different programs of next month’s Sarajevo Film Festival, while other directors and young talent from the country will also also be represented in sections of the leading Balkan cinema event.
Some of the most acclaimed films from Georgia’s cinema heritage are being returned to the country’s vaults from Russia in the latest phase of a historic process.
