Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham has highly praised Georgia’s democratic reforms at a meeting held with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze who is currently visiting US.
PM Bakhtadze thanked Graham for his active support for Georgia and the role he plays in ensuring that support for Georgia is constantly on the Senate’s agenda.
With the efforts of Lindsey Graham the subcommittee of Foreign Operations and Related Programs has prepared a bill to increase the budget of US support to Georgia.
Graham pointed out that Georgia is the leader of democratic reforms and institutional development in the region and once again reaffirmed his support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integity.
He has also expressed his support for Georgia on its way towards NATO integration and thanked the head of the Georgian government for its involvement in international peacekeeping missions.
Lindsey Graham promised he will continue supporting Georgia in the future as well.
