Georgia has exported 51.7 million bottles (0,75L) of wine to 52 countries during January-August, up by 16 percent y/y. However, Russia received the largest share of exports with more than 33 million bottles.
Ukraine comes next with more than 6 million bottles and China third - 4,113,328 bottles of wine. Kazakhstan (2,313,378) and Poland (2,121,474) come next in the top five. Export to the US, which is becoming one of the priority markets for the Georgia's National Wine Agency, has only increased by two per cent (291,640 bottles), while there was a 17 per cent increase in exports to the UK (52,732 bottles) which is also among target markets.
In the first eight months of 2018 Georgia received $125.5 million from wine exports, up by 25 per cent y/y.

As for the export numbers of other alcoholic drinks, Georgian producers have exported 11.7 million bottles (0.5L) brandy (+19%) and received $23.9 million in income, up by nine per cent y/y. Export of Chacha has increased by 80 per cent y/y and amounted for almost 239 thousand bottles (0,5L) worth $692.4 thousand (+88%).
