Georgian Railway has launched a new mobile application, giving locals as well as tourists the chance to purchase railway tickets through a mobile application.
Owners of Android, iOS and Windows smartphones are already able to download the Georgian Railway’s mobile application.
Purchasing a travel ticket is a simple process through the mobile application. ‘Georgian Railway Tickets’ enables the users to search tickets for the preferred direction, choose train, select seat and wagon/floor, view purchased tickets even offline and get the QR code.
With this mobile app you can use the E-services of Georgian Railway, purchase one or two way tickets, use student discounts, and purchased tickets will be saved locally to see generated QR code in offline mode”, read the press release of Georgian Railway.
Georgian Railways has stated that more passages will be scheduled from Tbilisi to the country’s coastal city of Batumi in the summer, due to the hot season and the increased inflow of tourists.
The supervisory board of Georgian Railways has appointed a new Director General - Davit Peradze. The position has become vacant since the previous General Director Mamuka Bakhtadze was appointed as the Minister of Finance of Georgia this month.
