Georgian ambassador to Indonesia presents credentials to president of Singapore

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Indonesia, Irakli Asashvili has presented his credentials to the President of Singapore Halimah Yacob on July 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announced today. 

Halimah Yacob and Irakli Asashvili have also discussed perspectives of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Singapore. President Yacob has wished success to Ambassador Asashvili in his new position. 

Ambassador Asashvili has also held a meeting with the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore, Charles Chong. The two officials have discussed prospects of deepening inter-parliamentary relations between Georgia and Singapore. 

Ambassador Asashvili, who is based in Jakarta, also represents Georgia in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). ASEAN is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising ten Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar (Burma), Cambodia, Brunei and Laos.
