Singapore Airlines appoints Aviareps as General Sales Agent for Georgia

Singapore Airlines, the flag carrier airline of Singapore, has appointed Aviareps Group as its sole general sales agent in Georgia to handle sales, marketing, reservations and ticketing activities.

Sales representative at Singapore Airlines, Selcuk Demir exclusively told Agenda.ge that "we are hopeful that, emerging power with Aviareps Group and Singapore Airlines will be beneficial for Georgian market, for both incoming and outgoing travel industry”.

We believe in the importance of working with local partners. That's why we have chosen Aviareps to be our appointed General Sales Agency in both the Georgian and Azerbaijani markets. Right now they have an office in Baku, and soon there will be a local Sales Representative in Tbilisi for Georgia market as well,” said Demir.

The reason why Singapore Airlines is appointing a general sales agent in Georgia is growing demand, he explained.

Singapore Airlines Turkey office is aware of growing demand (38.4 percent growth at passenger number in the period of August 16 - July 17 compared to the previous year's same period) to South East Asia and South West Pacific, especially to SilkAir's (regional wing of Singapore Airlines) and Scoot's (budget airline owned by Singapore Airlines) unique destinations,” said Demir.

Also these is an opportunity for the Georgian market because we may also carry passengers to Georgia from South East Asia and South West pacific countries and help to increase incoming traffic to Georgia,” he added.

Right now Singapore Airlines does not fly to Georgian cities, but "if we see the market potential and growing demand to Singapore Airlines destinations, we can consider” said Demir.

Currently, we have agreements with other airlines who are flying to/from Tbilisi and Batumi airports. We are carrying passengers to our departure cities which are Istanbul, Moscow and Dubai etc, with these agreements. Than we are serving the passengers until their final Singapore Airlines, Silkair and Scoot destinations,” Demir said.

As for the Aviareps Group, this is a General Sales Agent of airline and tourism representative. Founded in 1994 in Germany the corporation is now operating through a network of 55 offices in 43 countries.
