Work starts on Bakuriani bypass road

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has started construction work on the Bakuriani bypass road.
The six million GEL project, implemented with the financial support of the European Investment Bank, is aimed at preventing frequent traffic jams in Bakuriani which hinder comfortable and safe movement for tourists and locals.
The Municipal Development Fund management claims that the problems are caused by the absence of a bypass road and they will be solved as soon as the works are finished.
Construction work on around 2.5 kilometers of road is planned to be completed in the spring of 2019.
A special tourism centre located in Bakuriani’s movie theatre provides tourists with information as to various services and activities available in town, as well as about weather, ropeway and public transport schedules.
