The first humanoid robot Sophia will visit Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi to participate in Georgia's Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit, which will be held in Tbilisi on July 17-19.
Sophia will speak on July 18 at a session entitled ‘Public Services and Innovation’.
The aim of the OGP Summit session is to deepen the dialogue on participatory public service innovations and what that means in a modern technological environment.
The session will also focus on co-delivery in terms of how human resources and technologies can be used in tandem to deliver tailored public services, accessible to all.
By bringing together the Georgian and international learning experience, as well as Sophia, the most advanced robot to date, the session aims to provoke thought on the future of innovative public services.
Sophia was created by American roboticist David Hanson, the founder of Hanson Robotics. Sophia was activated in 2015 and was granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia in 2017. Through artificial intelligence, she is able to imitate human gestures and to converse on predefined topics.
