Georgia is participating in the Sea Breeze 2018 international military exercises that kicked off in Ukraine's southern city of Odessa on July 9.

The land, naval and air drills involve more than 2,000 personnel, 30 vessels and an array of aerial vehicles from 19 NATO member countries and members of the NATO Partnership for Peace programme.

50 Georgian military servicemen are participating in the exercises in Odessa.

The purpose of the annual multinational training is to improve maritime security, as well as improve cooperation and coordination between Black Sea countries and partner maritime forces.

During the exercises, the Georgian military forces will improve their knowledge in management of operations and exchange of information. Also, they will get experience in water, underwater, amphibian and anti-aircraft operations.

Sea Breeze 2018 will last until July 22.

The Sea Breeze exercises have been held annually since 1997.
