The Russia-controlled border guards have released a Georgian citizen Paata Arakelov, who was abducted for crossing of so-called border with the Georgian occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region on July 6.
The 28-year-old Georgian man was released after paying a fine today.
The Russia-controlled border guards kidnap Georgian citizens quite often and in most cases release them after paying a fine.
The fine amounts to 2,000 Russian rubles (31 USD).
The Georgian occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali were recognised as independent states by Russia after the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.
