Number of infantry patrol police inspectors in Tbilisi increases to 80

Already 80 infantry patrol police inspectors are walking around the streets of Tbilisi where nightlife is active to ensure the security of tourists and locals. 

The patrol police officers, a new addition Tbilisi law enforcement, had their first day on duty on May 21. 

They are charged with ensuring the security of locals and city guests at places where there is night-life activity.  

After working in 10 groups around the areas of Shardeni, Bambis Rigi, Kote Apkhazi, Tabidze, and Vertskhli streets, David Agmashenebeli Avenue, as well as Europe, Vakhtang Gorgasali, Saarbrücken, and Abanotubani Squares in the beginning, now infantry patrol police officers will be divided into 20 groups and work around Vake Park, Lisi and Turtle lakes, too.

The major obligation of the patrol is to prevent and record crimes against tourists and they are equipped with modern equipment including shoulder cameras.

The patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to once again increase the number of infantry patrol inspectors as the summer tourist season becomes more active.
