Russia has released two Georgian border guards who were detained on June 27 at the Russia-Georgia border.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia says that the release came after intensive negotiations.

Two Georgian border guards of the Lagodekhi regional office of the Border Police of Georgia were tasked to open a temporary guardpost on the Dagestan section of the Russia-Georgia border. After some time they suspended communication with their colleagues,” the Interior Ministry says.

The ministry reports that all the details of the detention will be cleared out.
