The Georgian Dream ruling party has named acting Finance Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, for the prime minister’s candidacy, after the resignation of Giorgi Kvirikashvili yesterday.
Georgia will be a powerful, European-style country,” Bakhtadze stated at a briefing shortly before.
He said that people have been and will be the main value of the Georgian Dream government.
Each initiative or effort will be for the better future of each Georgian citizen. To achieve this goal we [the government] should be unanimous and principled, focused on high quality,” he said.
Between 2005 and 2006 Bakhtadze,36, served as the project manager of the Georgian Railway.
In 2010-2012 he was the director general of Georgia’s International Energy Corporation.
Bakhtadze holds a doctoral degree in technical sciences and also a master’s degree in business administration from the INSEAD Business School in France.
