Georgia’s State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Viktor Dolidze met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels today.

"[I’m] thankful for [Stoltenberg’s] firm support of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations”, the Georgian official wrote on Twitter following the closed meeting.

While in Brussels, Dolidze is scheduled to participate in a NATO-Georgia Commission (NGC) meeting. The NGC was established in September 2008 to serve as a forum for both political consultations and practical cooperation to help Georgia achieve its goal of membership in NATO.

Dolidze will also attend a meeting of the Military Committee, NATO’s highest military authority, tomorrow.

"With Georgia, discussions will focus on the continued defence reform progress and achievements and the way ahead for the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package Implementation”, the NATO press office said.

The Military Committee meets twice a year at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, at the level of Chiefs of Defence to discuss NATO operations and missions and provide the North Atlantic Council with consensus-based military advice on how the Alliance can best meet global security challenges.
