Popular UK magazine will cover Georgia’s birdwatching potential

BirdWatching, the United Kingdom’s best-selling bird magazine will write about Georgia’s protected areas and birdwatching potential of the country.
Journalists from the BirdWatching Magazine UK have enjoyed a one-week press tour in Georgia, which was supported by the Georgian National Tourism Administration and the Agency of Protected Areas.
During one week the journalists have visited Georgia’s various protected areas such as Kazbegi, Vashlovani and Tchatchuna.

The journalists said Kazbegi was one of the best places for birdwatching.
Georgia is an interesting country for the UK in terms of birdwatching potential. The country is rich with important bird species. Some birds are difficult to find in the mountains without a guide. This is a wonderful place for birdwatching and Georgia is a safe country for travelling,” said one of the journalists.
Birdwatching is one important direction of developing eco-tourism in the country.
World leading ornithology experts and birdwatching enthusiasts gathered in the region's capital Batumi to enjoy the area's diverse bird life and the unique chance to observe the migration of over 100,000 birds of prey in a single day.
For the fourth consecutive year Georgia’s seaside city Batumi is hosting the International Bird Festival, involving trips to the best birdwatching locations and conferences led by local and international ornithology experts.
