Georgia’s ethnic minorities will soon have the opportunity to gain professional experience in state institutions thanks to a new professional diversity program.

Every year, 60 members of ethnic minority groups who have successfully finished the state 1+4 program will be taken on by central and regional government institutions to improve their professional skills on the ground and find relevant jobs in the future.

The 1+4 program began in 2010 and allows Abkhazian, Ossetian, Armenian and Azerbaijani youth to pass aptitude tests in their native language, take a one-year intensive course in Georgian and later pursue the subject of their choice in Georgian state universities.
