Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in Georgia’s Black Sea resort town of Batumi in Adjara region late last night.
Yildirim visited Batumi only for a couple of hours and discussed the dynamics of the development of the Georgian-Turkish strategic partnership.
Kvirikashvili said Georgia is ready to host the strategic partnership council’s high level meeting of this year which coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Turkey.
Yildirim said he is looking forward to meet Kvirikashvili again at the leaders’ summit at the upcoming Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Turkey’s city of Istanbul in May.
Per its official webpage "BSEC is a unique and promising model of multilateral political and economic initiative aimed at fostering interaction and harmony among the Member States, as well as to ensure peace, stability and prosperity, encouraging friendly and good-neighborly relations in the Black Sea region”.
Georgia is one of the 12 BSEC Member States together with Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
