Hear Baroque masterpieces in Georgian Sinfonietta’s Tbilisi concert

Tbilisi-based Georgian Sinfonietta orchestra will host listeners for a concert of music by some of the greatest baroque composers this week.

Titled The Masterpieces of Baroque Music, the show will be held for music enthusiasts at the Sinfonietta Stage venue in Georgia’s capital on March 16 and 18.

Performing artists of the ensemble will hold the concert on the back of their recent series of public shows in Tbilisi.

These included a performance for socially underprivileged residents in Tbilisi on Tuesday.

Also known as the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra, the group features 14 musicians and is led by artistic director Giorgi Kerelashvili.

Founded in 2008, the orchestra has performed at venues in Georgia and abroad, including the Chamber Hall of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Munich High School of Music and Theatre in Germany.

They have also appeared at events including the Tbilisi Wind Festival and Tbilisi Chamber Music Festival.

In addition, the orchestra is the founder of the Tbilisi Baroque Festival, the first ever baroque music festival in the Caucasus.
