Georgian budget 2018 approved: How much is it?

Georgian parliament has approved the country’s next year’s budget.
In 2018 Georgia will enjoy a budget of 12.441 billion GEL (about $4.827/€4.108 billion*). This is 943.8 million GEL more than it was in 2017.
The parliament voted on the 2018 budget today. The country’s main financial document was presented at the session by Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.
According to the 2018 budget, the country’s priorities next year will be:
- Healthcare;
- Infrastructure;
- Education.
The state budget assignations include the budget funds (10.49 billion GEL), grants (364.2 million GEL) and credits (1.587 billion GEL).

The 2018 budget for Tbilisi City Hall is about 880 million GEL, 60 million GEL more than was planned initially.
Next year Georgia will have a state budget of 12 billion GEL to use for state agencies, projects, and to further the country.
Tbilisi Sakrebulo (City Council) has approved next year’s budget for Georgia’s capital city. In 2017 Tbilisi City Hall will enjoy a budget of over 800 million GEL.
Developing and upgrading public transport in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi will be the top priority and challenge facing Tbilisi City Hall next year.

The Georgian government has presented a bill to parliament requesting 14.2 billion GEL ($4.77 bln/€4.37 bln) for the 2020 budge, including budgetary funds of 12.99 billion GEL ($4.37 bln/€4 bln), grants of 45 million GEL ($15.12 mln/€13.85 mln) and credits of 1.17 billion GEL ($0.39 bln/€0.36 bln).
