United Arab Emirates to double investments in Georgia

"We have decided to double our investments in Georgia”, announced the Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Al Nahyan, today.
Sheikh Al Nahyan is among some 2,000 guests who are participating today in the second Silk Road Forum, taking place on November 28-29 in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi.
Al Nahyan stated that all international ratings indicate that Georgia is a business-friendly country.
This has encouraged the United Arab Emirates to double investments in Georgia. The Sheikh said the interesting sectors for further investments are airports, ports and real estate.
"Passenger flow has increased between our countries. For example, years ago there was only one flight, today there are five flights [between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates]. This proves that relations between our countries have improved… we trust the Government of Georgia and the Georgian people,” said Sheikh Al Nahyan.
Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is hosting the second Silk Road Forum, which is being attended by around 2,000 honourable guests from all over the world. Today and tomorrow, November 28-29, government representatives and business leaders from more than 60 countries and more than 500 foreign companies are participating in two-day forum.

“Georgia: Leader of Europe’s second wave reforms”
Georgia is leading the second wave of countries in eastern and central Europe, with its progressive reforms, believes the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Alain Pilloux.
Georgia and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on developing economic zones and entrepreneurial capacity between the countries.
The second Silk Road Forum, titled ‘Tbilisi Belt and Road Forum’ continues in Georgia’s capital with a panel discussion titled ‘Use Investment Opportunities’. The first session under this panel, Georgia’s Investment and Trade Opportunities, is being moderated by well-known media consultant Jan Burel.
Georgia is seeking to establish a free trade agreement with the countries of the Gulf to access their markets and facilitate increased bilateral business and trade.Future free trade agreement with the Gulf countries was one of the main and important issues discussed at the meeting with Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili and the Minister of Economy of United Arab Emirates Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansuri.
