Ukraine’s Vice-PM urges int’l community from Georgia to place pressure on Russia

Ukraine’s Vice-Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko has addressed the international community to provide further pressure on Russia to help Georgia and Ukraine reintegrate their occupied territories.

Rosenko made the statement standing at the occupation line in Khurvaleti village, the heart of the country, separating Tskhinvali region from the rest of Georgia.

What is going on in Georgia and Ukraine is sacrificing hundreds of people to the wishes of a single person. Hundreds have been killed, many others remain homeless….

Today we are standing at the occupation line in Georgia. The line does not exist in Ukraine as we are still fighting. Yesterday occupants killed a Ukrainian soldier,” the vice-prime minister said.

Georgia’s Minister of Refugees Sozar Subari, who accompanied the Ukrainian official to Khurvaleti and at the IDP settlement in Tserovani village in Gori, said the "artificial barriers will be demolished like the Berlin Wall.”

The Berlin Wall was a boundary between civilization and anti-civilization, between the kind and the evil. I believe all such barriers will be demolished. 

Ukraine still faces aggresion. However, Georgia’s and Ukraine’s strong support to each other, as well as the firm position of the international community, will be the guarantee of our territorial integrity,” Subari said.

Subari thanked the vice-PM for his country’s strong support for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
