Georgia is ready to further contribute to the NATO Black Sea and naval operations and is eager to provide better support for regional stability and security, Georgia’s interior minister stated.
Minister Giorgi Mgebrishvili told this to Deputy Commander of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command, Vice-Admiral Herve Blejean today in Batumi, where four NATO vessels arrived to participate in joint trainings.
The officials spoke about Georgia-NATO current relations and expectations for further interoperability and cooperation.
Mgebrishvili also mentioned Georgian border police staff’s participation in the NATO Sea Guardian operation, with the goal of ensuring security in and nearby the Mediterranean Sea.
Georgia, as a reliable NATO partner, contributes much to Black Sea regional peace and security. We are ready to boost contribution for NATO naval operations,” Mgebrishvili stated.
Blejean praised Georgia’s participation in NATO operations and the interior ministry reforms.
Georgia is NATO’s worthy and important partner,” the vice admiral stated.
He said "NATO has three members and one particular partner” in the Black Sea Area.
