Georgian President in Italy on official visit

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has left on an official working visit to Italy.

President of Italy Sergio Mattarella will host Margvelashvili at an official welcoming ceremony, which will be followed by a meeting between the two Presidents tomorrow.

Margvelashvili is accompanied by a state delegation composed of the Head of President’s Administration Giorgi Abashishvili, Head of the National Security Council Davit Rakviashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, Georgia’s Ambassador to Italy Karlo Sikharulidze and other high-ranking state officials.

As part of the visit Margvelashvili’s meeting is also scheduled with the President of the Senate of the Republic of Italy  Pietro Grasso.

Margvelashvili will also meet with the students of the NATO Defense College in Rome and deliver a public lecture.

Georgian President will end his working visit to Italy on October 17.
