The summer tourist season is in full swing in Georgia’s Black Sea resort towns and the Emergency Management Agency calls on the citizens to pay attention to safety rules and regulations.
In July 2017 rescuers of the Emergency Management Agency of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs rescued 176 people on the Black Sea.
Among these 176 rescued people there were 106 Georgians and 70 foreigners.
As the Agency reported, people were mostly rescued in Black Sea resort town of Ureki, where 62 citizens (23 Georgians and 23 citizens of other countries) were saved.
Meanwhile, the rescuers returned 109 children, lost on the beach, to their parents in the past one month. Most of the children were found again in Ureki.
The Emergency Management Agency urges the population to pay attention to the banners installed on the coastal zone and the prohibition signs, not to cross the patrolling area of the rescuers and obey their instructions, pay attention to their children and adolescents and not to enter the sea when they are drunk or when there is poor visibility.
