Georgian parliamentary delegation leaves for Strasbourg

Georgia’s permanent parliamentary delegation will join the summer plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in the French city of Strasbourg on June 26-30.

Per the official webpage of PACE, Europe and migration will be one of the central themes of the of summer plenary session.

Other highlights of the session include debates on recognising and enforcing the principle of accountability in the Parliamentary Assembly, promoting integrity in governance to tackle political corruption and parliamentary scrutiny over corruption”, the webpage says.

Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland, Mayor of Athens Giorgos Kaminis, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks, and the Swedish Minister for Justice and Migration Morgan Johansson will be among the key speakers.

Headed by the Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Tamar Chugoshvili, the delegation will hold high-level meetings with the European colleagues.
