Georgia and Azerbaijan are strengthening ties in various fields of economy to enjoy the benefits of tighter cooperation.
Economy Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia met his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev in Baku today to discuss details of current and future cooperation.
We have planned the next steps, created several working groups to move to the daily working level. We clearly understand the importance of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in terms of a transport corridor as well as in terms of trade and tourism,” said Gakharia.
On the other hand Mustafayev stated that bilateral high level visits used to play an important role in further developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
At the meeting with my colleague we have discussed in detail issues related to the transit corridor and of course the new Silk Road, in which both countries are actively involved. We talked about ongoing strategic projects, trade, agriculture, information technologies, tourism, investment and other important issues,” said Mustafayev.
Georgian Minister added that economic relations were at a high level between the countries. As an example he recalled the increased trade volume between the countries and said that trade increased by almost 50 percent during the first four months of 2017.
