Georgia’s annual inflation rate posted a 6.6 percent year-on-year increase, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 8.3 percent and contributed 2.53 percentage points to the overall Consumer Price Index (annual inflation) change.
The prices were higher for the following subgroups:
Meanwhile, prices decreased for fruit and grapes (-4.7 percent) said Geostat.
Transport-related costs were 17.5 percent higher contributing 2.13 percentage points to the annual inflation.

Prices also increased (15 percent) for alcoholic beverages and tobacco with a relevant contribution of 0.97 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate.
The prices increased both for:
Health-related costs were up 6.7 percent, which resulted in a 0.60 percentage point contribution to the overall annual inflation.
