Avid web users in Georgia and abroad have been offered to take advantage of a freshly launched campaign to promote snapshots of the country's cultural heritage and history to the world.
The project will involve creation of online posts showcasing historical exhibits including unique creations by goldsmiths of the ancient Colchi Kingdom and items once owned by Georgian royals and noble families.
Also featured will be artefacts illustrating Georgia’s wine-making heritage and masterpieces of art created in the country in the 19th and 20th century.
The campaign was launched at the Georgian National Museum earlier today. Photo: Georgian National Museum.
The posts will be shared by social media users on the web using the hashtag #shareGeorgia , with participants also able to create their own submissions for the campaign.
Unveiled at the Georgian National Museum earlier today, the campaign, titled 'Become Georgia’s Digital Ambassador', will be launched by the Tbilisi-based Business and Technology University, with the museum network revealed as the first partner for the effort.
Organisers said more state agencies and private companies in Georgia would be involved in promoting the online project throughout the year.
