Georgia takes measures to attract more European investments and tight economic, trade and investment ties with the European Union (EU).
Yesterday Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili held a meeting with the representatives of the EU-Georgia Business Council (EUGBC) where topical questions were discussed.
Kumishshvili introduced the main achievements of the Georgia-EU Association Agreement (AA) and a positive progress report on Georgia's implementation of its Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP).
The sides also talked about the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), which is part of the AA.
Kumsishvili claimed the reforms Georgia had implemented in the EU integration process was increasing the economic attractiveness and stability of Georgia as well as the whole region.
At the meeting both sides discussed the opportunities of developing business cooperation, supporting investments and deepening trade and economic ties.
Georgia’s Economy Minister said his office would support attracting European capital to Georgia and strengthen commercial diplomacy.
One of the priority areas for Georgia will be to increase its awareness and positive image abroad to attract more European investments.
