Georgia and Latvia are tightening their economic, trade and business ties, says the Economy Ministers of both countries.
Yesterday Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili hosted his Latvian counterpart Dana Reizniece-Ozola in Tbilisi, Georgia. After the meeting the two Ministers officially opened the Business Cooperation Council meeting where representatives from the Georgian and Latvian business societies were introduced the two countries’ investment climates.
At the meeting both sides discussed the opportunities of developing business cooperation, supporting investments and deepening trade and economic ties.
Georgia’s Economy Minister said his office would support attracting Latvian capital to Georgia.
Meanwhile, the Latvian official said there was potential to deepen business cooperation in areas including pharmaceuticals, energy, tourism and more.
Today the Ministers will officially open a Georgia-Latvia Inter-Governmental Economic Commission meeting.
The main topics of the meeting will be trade and investments, transport, tourism, sport, energy, environment, agriculture, science and education and culture. The sides will also discuss regional development and local governance, intellectual property, research development and innovations, healthcare and employment, Georgia-EU relations and diaspora issues.
