Defence Ministry gives flats to deceased and wounded soldiers’ families

Georgia’s Ministry of Defence is caring about its deceased and alive soldiers who had contributed much for the state interests inside and outside the country. 

For the Christmas holiday, on January 7, the Ministry officials handed flats to the families of 10 Georgian soldiers, eight of them died during various military trainings and studies, and the rest two got injured when protecting Georgian interests. 

The flats are located in so-called "military settlement” in Varketili district, in the suburb of capital Tbilisi.

The Minister of Defence Tinatin Khidasheli stated that giving the flats to the Georgian soldiers, who had shown certain merit and bravery before the country, would continue. 

The Minister stated that for January 19 this year 200 soldiers would get flats in the settlement. 

The process will be renewed again in the spring and at the end of 2016 500 families will also enjoy the flats.

We will conclude the process in 2017 and finally 1,400 families will receive their own accommodations,” Khidasheli added.

The family members of the ten soldiers viewed their new flats, which are being renovated, together with deputy Defence Ministers Davit Ebralidze and Besik Loladze.
