Investors gather in Tbilisi for EBRD infrastructure, new energy summit

Hundreds of the world energy experts and top investors are coming to Georgia next week to exchange ideas about the increasing energy potential of the region at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regional infrastructure and energy summit.
About 250 investors are expected to attend the EBRD’s third Annual South Caucasus Infrastructure & New Energy Investment Summit on February 16 and 17 in capital Tbilisi.
For two days key local and international government officials, representatives from global financial institutions, and small, medium and large business leaders will meet at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.
The event will be the largest investors get together, bringing under one roof over 250 local and international delegates, keen to exchange ideas and receive first-hand information on the increasing potential of the region”, said the EBRD.
The experts will discuss the following issues:
- Urban environmental and key regional infrastructure developments;
- Revitalising and modernising transport infrastructure;
- Project financing;
- Investment opportunities in new energy power generation;
- Expanding renewable markets & cross-border energy infrastructure; and
- Renovating water resources, waste management, recycling, and cleaning technologies.
This will be the third time Tbilisi hosts the Annual South Caucasus Infrastructure & New Energy Investment Summit.
It was standing-room only in the main hall of Tbilisi Parliament when Georgia’s Prime Minister gave his address at the EBRD Host Country Investment Outlook Session this evening.
Top governmental officials from more than 60 countries, heads of international institutions, global decision-makers, corporate executives and staff from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are gathering in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi to consider a strategy for the EBRD regions for the coming years.
Georgia has spent more than 17 million GEL on preparatory works to host the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meeting, of which movable and immovable property worth 14 million GEL will remain in the state.
