Sweden’s Foreign Minister is coming to Georgia

Georgia is preparing to host the Foreign Minister of Sweden, Margot Wallstrom.
Wallstrom will pay an official visit to capital Tbilisi on February 8.
The visit was part of the Swedish official’s regional tour.
While in Tbilisi, Wallstrom will meet her Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze, also Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili.
All of the scheduled bilateral meetings will focus on Georgia-Sweden relations, Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and political situation in the region.
Today the Ministry of Environment Protection of Georgia signed a cooperation agreement with the Swedish Radiation Regulatory body, which will allocate €35,000 (97,000 GEL) to Georgia to adopt a 15-year Strategy and Action Plan regarding radioactive waste management.
A collection of poetry by award-winning Georgian author has been praised by Swedish critics after its publication in the Scandinavian country.
Sweden’s oldest museum is hosting a month-long celebration that pays homage to Georgian culture and the ties between the small Caucasian nation and the Scandinavian country.
Georgia’s capital Tbilisi will host three European Union (EU) foreign ministers tomorrow.

Sweden will participate in the NATO-Georgia military drills in 2019, Georgian and Swedish defence ministers announced in Tbilisi today.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday held a farewell meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Georgia, Ulrik Tideström, with the latter’s diplomatic term in the country coming to a close.
