Georgia’s PM sends congratulations to Italy’s new PM

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili is congratulating Paolo Gentiloni on his appointment as the next Prime Minister of Italy and wishing him success in his new role.

In his letter of congratulations Georgia's Prime Minister recalled Paolo Gentiloni's recent visit to Georgia. Gentiloni visited Georgia last month as Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

I am sure, during the number of meetings within your visit to Georgia, we have shown a very special attitude towards Italy and the huge importance we attach to close relations between our countries," reads Kvirikashvili's letter.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also emphasised his special acknowledgment of Gentiloni's personal contribution to the success of Geogia's visa liberalisation process.

Kvirikashvili congratulated Gentiloni on his appointment as PM of the Italy via his official Twitter account:

Furthermore Kvirikashvili said "we appreciate Italy’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We also appreciate your support in implementing domestic reforms”.

I am convinced under your leadership the new government will accomplish with excellence Italy's tasks and objectives,” Kvirikashvili said.
