Georgia wins two bronze in freestyle wrestling

Georgian athletes are continuing to impress at the United World Wrestling (UWW) Junior World Championships in France.
Georgia won two bronze medals today, on day one of the freestyle wrestling competition in Macon, eastern France.
The medalists were Tato Gaprindashvili (74kg) and Shmagi Todua (60 kg).
The UWW Junior World Championships began in Macon on August 30 and will conclude at the end of today.
Earlier during the competition team Georgia became world champions in Greco-Roman wrestling with four gold and one bronze medals.
Later this afternoon four other Georgian freestyle wrestlers will compete in the 55kg, 66kg, 84kg and 120kg categories.

Georgia is team champion of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Junior World Championships after athletes won four golds and a bronze medal this week at an international competition for young wrestlers.
Georgian wrestler Giorgi Melia is the new wrestling junior world champion after he triumphed in the 96kg category of the Greco-Roman wrestling discipline at the tournament in Macon in eastern France.
Georgia’s freestyle wrestling team has won the European Cup of Nations by defeating Russia in the final series of the competition.
Young Georgian wrestlers have claimed six medals at the ongoing U23 Senior European Championships in Hungary, with three athletes claiming gold in their respective categories.
