A Georgian wine company has secured a gold award for its Ilerco 2012 at one the world’s most prestigious wine competitions.
Following two weeks of intensive blind tastings in London, United Kingdom, the International Wine Challenge 2016 revealed Georgian wine made by Shumi with the native Saperavi grape was the winner of a Gold award.
Shumi presented four wines at the International Wine Challenge 2016 and all four wines received prizes.

Its red dry wine Ilerco 2012 won a Gold award, Mukusani Wine 2012 and Tsinandali Iberiuli Wine received silver and bronze awards respectively.
The company’s Kindzmarauli Iberiuli Wine gained a Commended award.
Alongside Georgia, other big wine winners came from France, Spain, the United States (US), South Africa, Portugal, New Zealand, Italy and more.
