The value of Georgia’s exports and imports (External Merchandise Trade) decrease year-on-year (y/y), claims the National Statistics Office of Georgia, Geostat.
The preliminary data published by Geostat today showed Georgia’s External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-organised trade) amounted to $9.928 billion USD.
This was a 13 percent drop compared to 2014.
Furthermore, Geostat said the value of the country’s export decreased 23 percent to $2.204 billion USD, while imports dropped by 10 percent to $7.724 billion USD in 2015.
The trade deficit equalled $5.521 billion USD, which made up 56 percent of total trade turnover.
