Artworks describing Georgia’s historical and cultural monuments are going on display at the State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography in capital city Tbilisi.
The exhibition contains 200 paintings by German painter Werner Rudiger about Georgian monuments, on which took him four years to create.
Werner travelled around Tao-Klarjeti, a southwestern province of Georgia but now part of Turkey, and painted churches and historical monuments that are today in poor condition.
Recently, the German painter decided to gift 200 painting from Tao-Klarjeti historical province to Georgia.
He said: "Germany is my homeland, but Georgia is my destiny”.
Werner’s paintings have already been exhibited in different cities throughout Georgia. The exhibition at the State Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography begins today and will continue for a week.
