Georgia's Prime Minister is continuing his busy schedule abroad. After spending time on official duties in Belgium, the Georgian PM is now in Romania.

Today Garibashvili met his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta at the Government house in Bucharest.

At the meeting, head of the Georgian Government emphasized the fact Georgia considered Romania as its "special" partner and a "true friendly country" of Georgia.

On the meeting agenda were a range of issues, such as deepening of political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Great attention was also paid to Georgia- European Union (EU) relations, the implementation of the reforms provided by the Association Agreement agenda and Georgia's expectations related to the Eastern Partnership Summit that is to be held in Riga in May.

"Georgia is actively collaborating with Europe by signing the Association Agreement. I would like to wish Premier Garibashvili to be the first Georgian Prime Minister who will sign a membership document with NATO," Ponta said at a press conference after the meeting.

Both Garibashvili and Ponta expressed concern over the signing of agreements between Russia with Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.

Before the meeting ended, the Georgian PM thanked his Romanian counterpart for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and the projects that were being implemented to promote visa liberalisation, disaster risk reduction and strengthening the management capacity in Georgia.
